is the day to day operation of the location’s Parts Department in compliance with established policies and procedures. He/she will accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control and security.Plans, directs and controls the activities of the Parts Department to ensure the overall objectives are met; formulates the major objectives, specific plans, plan procedures and programs for the Parts Department; evaluates the department’s results and performance against objectives. Maintains the highest quality standards of professionalism in serving the department and identifying the needs of the Maintenance Department.Job responsibilities include:
Requires thorough knowledge of all phases of the parts department.Manage parts inventory for locations which includes ordering and parts returns on a daily basis.Process and review daily/weekly stock orders for primary vendors.Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within the department.Review and monitor obsolete inventory and work with Management team to avoid and/or eliminate.Ensure that orders are being placed using the most cost effective programs and obtain maximum discounts available.Work with Maintenance and Body Damage Managers to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities of the Parts Department.Stays familiar with the activities of competition and department operation; keeps the Fleet Pool Maintenance Manager informed.Reviews and appraises the results of activities within the department and takes appropriate actions as necessary.Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.Establishes short and long term operating and financial objectives for the Parts Department within the Company’s overall plans and policiesMaintains appropriate communication within and between all departments.Must display excellent leadership and communication skills.Must have positive can-do attitude.Must have strong work ethics and commitment to extra hours when needed.Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Maintains safe and secure environment by following safety and security standards and procedures; complying with codesPerform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Mandatory Requirements Ideal Candidate would possess:
Proven track record of achieving or over-achieving goalsExcellent computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.Outstanding communication skillsAbility to read and comprehend instructions and informationGreat attitude with a high-energy personalitySuperior customer service skillsProfessional appearance and work ethic 3-5+ years Automotive Dealership Parts and/or Rental Car ExperienceFixed knowledge in overall parts operations, management, and rental car a plus
